Problem Note 42664: "ERROR: Physical file does not exist" might be issued with LAYOUT DATALATTICE in GTL

The following error messages might be written to the SAS Log when rendering PROC TEMPLATE code that contains a LAYOUT DATALATTICE statement:

java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.LayoutDataLatticeParser.repeatRowColumnStamps(LayoutDataLattic eParser.java:1007) at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.LayoutDataLatticeParser.load(LayoutDataLatticeParser.java:757) at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.LayoutDataLatticeParser.load(LayoutDataLatticeParser.java:79) at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.LayoutDataLatticeParser.load(LayoutDataLatticeParser.java:69) at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.StatGraph.load(StatGraph.java:469) at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.StatGraphPanel.load(StatGraphPanel.java:131) at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.StatGraphPanel.load(StatGraphPanel.java:59) at com.sas.graphics.applets.statgraph.StatGraphPanel.load(StatGraphPanel.java:55) at com.sas.graphics.app.StatGraphSSR.render(StatGraphSSR.java:193) java.lang.NullPointerException ERROR: Physical file does not exist, C:\DOCUME~1\xxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\SAS Temporary Files\_TD4268\_8EAE7440EF146909E60E62FDB6037BB.bmp.

The directory for the physical file is your WORK directory.

This problem is most likely to occur if the COLUMNVAR or ROWVAR variable on the LAYOUT DATALATTICE statement does not exist in the data set.

To circumvent the problem, specify a valid variable name.
